I hate when people think Depression is a disease or something, Depression comes when you feel like you're crap but you really aren't and you suck too much to realize you don't suck that much... yea that makes sense.

Well there's no doubt that Depression can come in the form of a disease you have no control over. people mistake common sadness for depression, but oh well. We're just stupid nowadays.

a syndrome is the outward EXPRESSION of a disease. Like sniffling, a fever, and coughing are a sign of having a cold. The cold itself is caused by the virus/bacteria (can't remember which) and the symptoms are what show up and let you know you have a cold.

No, Jack was right. The word you're thinking of is symptom, which you do use later on in the post. A syndrome may or may not be associated with symptoms, and when it is, it is in groups.

Syndrome
n
: a group of signs and symptoms that occur together and characterize a particular abnormality

and who are you anyways?

clinical depression is not just a group of signs or signals
sorry to burst your bubble
its a lot more
if you want scientific terms, there's a theory that some chemicals in a person's brain become inbalanced
therefore its more than just a syndrome
