Snippet-fic! Originally intended to be part of a larger story. Unfortunately, it's been so long I can't remember what that story was... But then, when do I post snippets?

Happy SPN Night!

Wow, for such a little fic, it really was quite powerful.

Well done!

I envisaged it as being part of a longer fic - but it seemed to *work* on it's own, and it seemed a shame to add anything to it. I'm very pleased you thought it worked too. Thanks!

Oh the conflicting emotions. Poor Sammy.

"Go to bed, Sam," and not "Good night," but he touches Sam on the shoulder before he leaves them for his own room.

That's a very solid mirror of their relationship. The lads in that family have short circuiting and can't actually say what they mean unless they're yelling at each other and even then...

Amazing the amount of pain that can be packed into so few words. So hurty and good.

I did envisage it as being a larger story. But in the end I felt like I'd said all I wanted to say. So it's a short one. I'm very pleased to hear you thought it worked. Thanks for the comments.

True, true. They need to work themselves into an emotionally volatile state before they say anything that needs to be said. It's one of the most appealing things about the show.

Thanks for the comments.:)

Holy crap. That packed a serious punch for such a short piece -- wow. I kind of loved it, a lot, and I'm not even sure I want to think about why.

Oh, and I'm ELATED to hear you signed up for the j2 bigbang-thing -- yay!!

I'm so pleased to hear it. I resisted the temptation to write a larger story on this one (although originally I had something longer in mind - i just can't remember what...) and I think it was the right decision. I'm glad to hear other people enjoyed it too. Thanks for the comments. :)

Very sweet.

Where... sweet reads as kinda desperate and melancholy and fucked up, for those that don't have a me=>world dictionary.
Short, but powerful.

heh. I like your definition. It's certainly different.

And 'fucked up' - yeah, definitely. So fucked up it can be spelled out in 400 words. I love that!
