Flight to Brisbane

David and I flew out of Adelaide together on Wednesday the 2nd April as I thought it would be more convenient to arrive in Brisbane together. It was, however, completely inconvenient on my end as this is what happened:

My journey starts in Melbourne where I am currently living. Got my sister to drop me off in Avalon ...the airport in the middle of nowhere... on Tuesday night. Flight to Adelaide was surprisingly on time and mostly without event (I flew Jetstar and bits off the airplane were LITERALLY FALLING OFF... ok it was only the reading light that fell on somebody's head, but still!!!).

There were some issues with getting picked up in Adelaide as David really wanted to go to his RPG session out north. So he left the car in the airport carpark, put the keys in a locker and walked to his mate's place who drove him from there.

I was wearing a white trench coat so I had some fun pretending I was a spy as I entered the code for the locker. It opened to reveal an empty locker save for the car keys and parking ticket! The 007 theme was playing in my head the whole time :D The funniest thing is the combination of parking and locker fees meant that it was only slightly cheaper than getting a taxi!

The next morning I had to rush from my parent's place (last minute sewing) back to David's place so we could get a lift from his Dad to the airport before noon.

While waiting in line for check-in David spotted a box of luggage tags. He grabbed two and hung them from his ears like earrings. He of course left them on until he was seated in the aircraft. The reactions to this were rather surprising as I didn't think they were that anarchic, but everybody stared. One or two people were cool about it. A female security guard at the metal detectors had a great laugh about it, but other people must have gotten severe neck strain from the way they were obviously staring as they walked past. David got a great kick out of this.

starfirephoenix (Alison) and Master Skywalker (Dave) were on the same flight as us so on check-in I requested to be seated near them. We found them at the gate and Alison gave me a Superhero Squad Daredevil vs Elektra figure set! Elektra is so cute! I completely forgot to take a picture with it on Friday night when I wore my Elektra costume :(

We were seated a row back and on the other side of the aisle to Alison and Dave. Alison and I spent most of the flight talking across the aisle, which made the flight go really quickly!

After arriving in Brisbane we shared a taxi to The Manor. The taxi driver obviously knew how to drive around Brisbane! He whipped through traffic rather quickly (not very legally, but definitely quickly!) and we were at the Manor in no time!
