Drove back to Melbs today and the effects of not being able to sleep for the past four nights have kicked in with a vengeance. I was able to snooze a little in the car (I wasn't driving!) and again this afternoon snuggled in my own bed. But the real problem is, for some reason, I haven't been able to get any real deep sleep for some time. Strangely enough, on Friday night the lack of sleep was actually causing me to be rather loud and hyperactive. On Saturday I was back to normal, but yesterday I was grumpy and headache-y. Now I'm just really lethargic.
The ACG quiz night on Friday was a hell of a lot of fun. We came third! Thanks so much to all my friends who came - It wouldn't have been the same without y'all there! We ended up having ten people on our table, but really only about five people were answering the questions. And when everyone knew the answer it was more a case of 'too many cooks' with people shouting out the answers (usually me! oops!). However, Jens visual answer for the question "How does the Cat from Red Dwarf do his laundry?" did not go unappreciated!
I wore the Pirate lolita outfit I have been raving about, which consisted of:
Black frilly-bummed bloomers - the design of which I lovingly ganked from
Angelic Pretty. Very easy to make and very effective. I was quite proud of these and was constantly lifting my skirts to show them off. So not lolita *hangs head in shame*
Black and Red double-layer skirt - Also very easy, full circle skirt which can be pulled up at the front with ribbons to reveal more of the red underskirt.
Red underbust corset - I made this a while ago for another costume that I never wore. I attached chains, pearls and nautical charms.
The black shirt, tricorn hat and red/white striped socks I already had in my closet. I also made a black frilly jabot with a skull charm, a wrist cuff and treasure chest bag that I filled with pirate gold!
I was very happy with the outfit and can't wait to wear it again.
