Ahm a Pirate, see! Just lookit mah poufy skirt! Aaarr!
I'm actually really excited about the ACG quiz night this Friday. I said I wasn't going to make anything new, but I got all excited about finishing a Pirate Lolita outfit I've been working on for ages. And I've nearly finished it (just hanging the skirt out, will do the hem at the last possible minute) and I'm totally in love with it!
Its red and black with a big skirt and I can't believe how unbelievably easy it all went together. The whole time I was making it I was thinking to myself how awesome everything was turning out. I was half expecting to wake up and find the whole thing was a dream (I've made many a fantastic costume in my sleep only to wake disappointed in the morn to discover I was actually dreaming)!
I found some gorgeous nautical-inspired charms at a Spotlight sale a while back for 50c each. So I made some pretty jewelery to go with it including a cute lace and ribbon cuff (with a ships wheel charm in the centre). I'm currently in the middle of attempting to make a treasure chest handbag.
Speaking of Spotlight... my local store has got a lot of their specialty fabric on sale (e.g. $50/m embroidered lace down to $10/m) and have just got in some special buy lycra (really nice quality for cheap) and I'm broke! Well I'm actually flushed with cash at the moment, its just all allocated elsewhere! *cries*
And why did this entry take me this long to write? It is now 11:17pm O_o
