Found missing book title!
For some time, like a couple of years, I have been trying to remember the title of a Dick Francis novel I read many, many years ago. Chapter 1 stuck in my head - main guy was handcuffed to his steering wheel. I've been surreptitiously checking out Chapter 1 in DF books at markets & in op shops etc, to no avail. Today a friend doing a DF reread was able to tell me it's 'Smokescreen'. Woo hoo! But I have no idea where in my house my DF books are, or even if I own it, as I may have borrowed it from a friend. All I need to do now is remember the title. In fact, I should go save it on my Pinterest board.
And today I tried Black Pudding for the first time. Turns out it's nicer than I expected. It was only a small piece.
