So why am I posting?? Cuz I don't currently want to look at anything related to genetics. Got a problem with that, punk??? Yeah, I didn't think so.
Anyway, I had a great weekend. I took my equine management final, which was okay, but Dr. Burk brought Dunkin Donuts and OJ for us, yay! Smarty Jones won the Preakness, I didn't see it, but I heard everyone at the bar at the restaurant, John Harvard's, screaming, so I guessed he had. Jenn dutifully called me and let me know that for a fact. Right after that I saw "Jesus Christ Superstar" for the first time, it was wonderful. But the sound system wasn't great, and I just couldn't understand some of the characters. The guy who played Judas had a wonderful voice, but I think I only understood a few words he said/sang. But it was wonderful even if I didn't know what they were saying, and the second half was great, so it made up for it.
Sunday I worked, pretty easy morning. Then I took my mom to Dominion Saddlery in Crofton to buy all my show stuff. I was looking for some boots, and the very first pair I tried on, I bought. They're really nice! They fit my rather large calves perfectly, were a brand new style, and were 25% off! I love them, and I "only" paid $156! Heh... that should put things into perspective.
That was the only thing I could afford with my $163. My mom, I love her!, bought me a navy blue jacket (makes me look super skinny) ($96), my dress shirt (~$30), fly spray ($5), shampoo ($5), leather cleaner ($18), and a sweat scraper ($2). So she spent just about as much on all of that as I did on my one pair of boots.
I was suprised when I was trying to decide which fly spray to get by someone saying something like "Did you know you are in the way?". I was a little suprised to turn around and see... Dr. Burk. Hehe. I introduced her to my mom, and then asked her if she went to the Preakness. She did, and caught a cold too, poor Dr. Burk. She asked me what I was doing, so I told her I was just trying to get everyhing I needed for showing. She thought that was neat. So that was odd but funny. So yeah, I have everything but a hair net thing (I forgot that, oops), but I can get that easy. I'm so happy!
Today, before spending 4+ hours, straight, studying for genetics in the Baltimore Room, I got a phone call from Kathy, again (farm manager at Linda's, aka where I work now). She wanted to know if I could work some time this week cuz she remembered that I was done with school this week. So I'm working Wed. and Thurs. afternoon, 1-5pm (woot), working all shifts this weekend, and then I'm also working 1-5pm Mon.-Thurs. Wahoo! So much money... let's see, that'll be about... holy crap, $300+ on one paycheck!! Of course, that's from two weeks of work, but still, I'd only been making about 80-100 per two weeks before that. *sigh* That's awesome. I may actually be able to save some money this summer, yay for a booming bank account! :)
Now back to reality, damn, I have my last final (genetics, the worst) tomorrow at 1:30, guess I'd better get back to studying. Of course I'll be up early tomorrow to return to the Union and continue to study until about 1:15, or I die. Wish me luck, this is the one I really need it for.
One more thing!! While talking to Kathy, she told me that Foxy, a paint mare, foaled at 5am this morning in the field... completely suprised us! I had brought Saucy (other mare) in from that field because we thought she was going to foal soon, so they both proved us wrong. Horses are so unpredictable! :)
