Well howdy folks!
I'm back in Cookeville with my friends Jeff, James and Mathis, gotten moved in and settled, need a bookcase, but have a new computer chair worthy of the Starship Enterprise and a great corner desk I assembled. My huge 21" Herniator monitor barely fits hehe.
The day after I got my desk, my new computer parts came in. Hooray for birthday money! I replaced my motherboard, processor, processor heatsink, video card and case. Right now I'm running an Athlon 64 X2 4200+ on an Asus A8N5X motherboard with a Zalman heatsink the size of Texas, a 256mb GeForce 7600GT, a gig of Corsair XMS DDR400 PC3200 ram, and my old hard drive. Mup.sys reared its ugly head again like it did last Thanksgiving after I plugged it into the new machine, so I slaved my hard drive to James', transferred everything I wanted to keep onto it, reformatted, reinstalled Windows, brought all my stuff back, and am now in the slow process of getting all my mandatory programs back. From what I've played with so far though, my new machine blows my old one out of the water. I also adore my new case. It's an AeroEngine II, with a ginormous 140mm front fan and a 120mm rear exhaust. It's beautiful and black and feels sturdy enough to not disintegrate under a harsh stare. Better yet, the power and reset buttons are safely tucked behind covers so I can't accidentally reboot myself. And finally, the biggest best news, NO MORE OVERHEATING! Woohoo! So I'm happy. Righteously happy. Hooray again for birthday money!
In other news... err... there's not much other news. Iron Grip got featured on GameTrailers.com which is awesome, and earlier today I took part in a radio interview over said project which went well, so I'm pleased with that too. Other than that, not much going on. Time to wait for school to start!
