[Kate is asleep in the corner. She's slouched in the chair, feet propped up in the windowsill. It's a bit chilly by the window, so she's got one of Desmond's hoodies on, the hood covering the upper half of her face.]
[ Desmond looks over at the windowsill and sees Kate. At first he's completely shocked to see her. For some reason, he always expected that if he came back to Mandalus? None of them would be there. He winces slightly at all the aching pain in his body before leaning back against the upright bed. He sighs. He probably worried the hell out of her. ]
[That hiss jolts Kate from sleep. She grunts, now awake and lifts her hand to push the hood back. It gets as far as her forehead and Kate sees the source of the sound. Her heart stops in her chest and then begins double time and she's on her feet in a second and closes the distance between her and Desmond. She circles her arms around his neck, hugging him tightly.] Don't ever leave me again, Miles.
Yeah... I should have known. [ Desmond falls quiet at that. He can't really apologize for leaving, can he? He had to go home. To stop the end of the world. Now that he has... ]
[ He reaches up with his good hand, placing it on the top of her head and starts smoothing her hair out. God, he did miss her. Except there wasn't much he could do about it. There wasn't any time to really express it either. No one would understand. ]
