Raced through Catching Fire. I'll assume everyone who wants to read it has - Katniss has won the games but life as a victor is not one of peace. The victors have to tour the other districts and it becomes clear that rebellion against the Capitol has been inspired by her actions in the arena. Then the next Games are due to start and Katniss and Peeta find themselves competing as Tributes again.

Found an early "In Death" (16) at the library last month - Portrait in Death. In this one, the victims are young vibrant people, men and women, who before they're killed are posed so the killer can take a portrait of them, which are then sent to the police.

A couple of weeks ago I also read Treachery in Death, 32nd in the series. Peabody overhears a conversation between 2 corrupt police officers, which triggers an investigation to find evidence which can bring them and their team down.

Just finished Peter Temple's first Jack Irish book Bad Debts, prompted by having watched the telemovie a couple of weeks ago. Jack Irish was a successful lawyer but for the last 10 years or so he's just been making ends meet by gambling on horses, and doing small jobs as a debt collector and private detective. One night he misses an urgent phone call from an ex-client of his, who is killed that night. As other people who were connected to the client's case, in which he was convicted of a hit-and-run killing, are also reported dead, Jack becomes increasingly afraid for his life. He has uncovered high-level police and political corruption which people would rather stay covered-up.

I've just started Mockingjay, the last book in the Hunger Games trilogy.
