here are a few of the shots from vienna. that place is seriously beautiful. it straddles a nice balance of greenery (largest public areas given over to parks in all of continental europe) and archetectural grandness, albeit with a slightly cold post-war feeling as well.
12th night was set in vienna, the best chocolate torte in the world comes from vienna, and they love dogs. just go and visit.
at the end of Kärntner Straße and beginning of graben is Haas Haus. oh the controversy!
a sampling of what the famous cafe demel has to offer. i had a slice of the cream cake (should really remember the names) thing in the lower left corner. decadence is a beautiful thing.
the roman ruins by the hofburg and heldenplatz. reminder: do NOT attempt to climb in.
dead looking trees and the dog shit lined sidewalk directly adjacent from the beautiful gardens by goethe street. a visual metaphor for vienna perhaps? oh brent.
i want american advertisements to look this cool. and strange.
THE hotel sacher. possibly the best reason to come to vienna. the official place to get a slice of the famous sacher torte.
the museum of modern art in the museum quarter. the buildings themselves were more impressive than what was actually inside them.
the gay clark kent pig looking ashtray monument reminds you that whilst smoking IN the station is fine, don't you dare bring that filth down the escalator!
the museum quarter at night. beautiful! i ate at the gay-art clientele restaurant HALLE which is right next to the museum of modern art and directly behind the light in the back.
