30 Days of Fanfic Challenge: Day 9
Day 9: Pairings - For each of the fandoms from day two, what are your three favorite pairings to write?
Oh god there were so many I listed! I don’t really write for multiple pairings in a fandom, except for the occasional one.
So starting with Breath of Fire III, I never really had a pairing for that. If anything, the Teepo, Rei, Ryu bro-dom meant way more than any romantic pairing. The whole Ryu/Nina never appealed to me, and honestly I was in this series long before I started actively shipping.
Ranma ½, I was pretty heavy in the Ranma/Akane, and lesser Ryoga/Ukyou. Now, I’m not really into any of them. Ranma/Akane is still good, but nothing else appeals. I have tried some Ranma/Ryoga fics, but I don’t like their dynamic romantically so that’s out. Ryoga/Akane isn’t bad, but again I much prefer focusing on Ranma/Ryoga bro-ness (you know, /making/ them bros instead of mortal enemies /laughs).
Detective Conan was proooobably the time I shipped the hardest. And I am an unapologetic KaiShin shipper. Still am, always will be. That said, I don’t mind good ShinRan stories, and I can be talked into HeiShin too. There’s others that are touched on that I will consider, if done right, but those are probably the top three. Taking into consideration canon is stupid for character development and fanon does it much better.
Danny Phantom I am first and foremost a PitchPearl shipper. From there, I will occasionally ship PompousPep (been losing my interest in this since it mostly leans waaay toward pedophilia instead of, you know, /characters in love??/), and BishieSwagger. The latter I like for reveal fics, idk. Just kinda fun to make Dash have to face the fact that he’s a giant tool who likes a dork. :p
However, PitchPearl is my forever ship. Not really the HeroicAmusement, and definitely not the (what was it…ah I forget) Dark Dan x Danny ship. I do not care for Dark Dan, honestly. Just the dynamic of an entity that is not really Danny, but born or formed from him. My favorite headcanon is that the ectoplasm that fused with Danny gained sentience, and eventually is broken off from Danny. Still, I do like different flavors of it.

Final Fantasy 9 I never had any ships. I do like Zidane/Garnet as endgame tho! Maybe some light Vivi/Eiko, and Freya/Fratley. Mebbe.
SEPHCLOUDSEPHCLOUDSEPHCLOUDSEPHCLOUD okay yes FF7 is forever SephCloud. Secondary I will say ZackCloud, because me and Koorii are planning on writing that. And thirdly I will say ZackAerith, which is cotton candy sweet and joyful (no tragedies here nope). That Was Easy Button.
Man I am kinda falling out of love with Harry Potter. I loved the world and the characters, but lately…it’s kind of soured. Not least because of the movies, but also the last few books. Idk, probably just me being picky. But yes Draco/Harry was my first slash pairing, and holds a special place in my heart. I have considered Snape/Harry (again, seriously soured on that), aaaand Ron/Hermione I guess. Canon aside, I did have some ideas for them, but usually as a background pairing.
Okay this totally counts for httyd; HiJack. SHUT IT TOTS DOES! HiJack is definitely my first and hardest crossover ship, and I don’t really know /why/. It just…works! So many ideas for them! I do wish the fandom had more quality fics, but eh. Secondary I’d say Hiccup/Astrid, though I prefer them being bros over romance. Still, it was cute in canon. Third I must say Stoick/Val. WOW did I love them in the second movie and WOW am I still upset.
Rise of the Guardians also gets the HiJack pairing. Sorry but it counts again! Beyond that, I am fond of JackRabbit, and Pitch/Jack. The former as character growth and let’s fix up Jack and give him happiness fics, and the latter as HELLO PITCH it’s time for you to be a decent spirit and Jack’s just the person to annoy you into it.
Jak and Daxter. No, that’s the pairing. :p Seriously though, I am a big Jax/Daxter shipper, and had a huge epic fic planned out for that. I don’t really ship anything else, sooooo~ Dark Jak/Daxter and Light Jak/Daxter. What? It counts!
TMNT is pretty easy. I ship Raph/Casey first and foremost, and when that’s done right good god do I love it. Secondly would probably be Donny/Raph (shush, I’ve shipped weirder and with more definite familial ties), followed by….idk really. Donny/April I think. I like them together, smart people doing smart things.
Lastly, Homestuck.

SERIOUSLY tho I can literally ship anyone with Karkat and be happy. Top ones are SolKar, DaveKat, and GamKar.
Beyond Karkat, I ship John/Dave, Rose/Kanaya, and SolDave. The latter I started a rp with Koorii once, which was awesome. Wish I could do more on that.
