For reasons that I don't really want to get into, I don't have a driver's license. I've had a learner's permit for seven years, which has served as a handy means of identification, but it doesn't let you do much.
Recently, though, I've taken to practicing behind the wheel again. If I ever want to get a place of my own, I'll pretty much need a license.
So I've gone out driving with the parents every Sunday morning for the last few weeks. I'm getting less nervous and getting a better handle on things. Today's the first day I took the turn into the driveway at less than thirty MPH.
Still having trouble keeping a consistent speed, though. There's a certain pressure on the gas pedal that, properly applied, will keep the engine at the right RPM to lock the speed, but I still don't have it down.
Gotta keep working on it. I'll figure it out eventually. Any practice is better than none.
