TV Recap: There's nothing simple about lying.

Pretty Little Liars (s01e20): Someone to Watch Over
Me *** All is unusually quiet this week
as we're two episodes away from the big season finale. One could say
this week is just a bunch of setup for what's to come, but I'm
wondering setup for what? Which storylines will be resolved by the
time this season ends? Or will any at all?

This week, 'A' continues to have her fun as Spencer looks increasingly
guilty. Meanwhile, the girls realize that other people in town are
keeping secrets, too.

Toby: Do me a favor? Whenever you get the urge to run away
again? Call me first. Okay?

Spencer: Okay.

The whole rest of the season the girls have been finding clues and
getting closer and closer to the truth. Or have they been? I'm
starting to wonder if 'A' has just been playing them whole time, to
place the blame on someone else and get away with murder. First,
trying to pin it on Toby and now Spencer. I'd previously thought Ian
was just suspicious and misunderstood, but not a murderer. Now, I'm
wondering what he's really hiding and what he has to gain from trying
to get Spencer to run away. Running away will only make her look
guiltier. It's a good thing Spencer is stronger than Ian thought, and
has the support of her mother and Toby to guide her.
Spencer: Either it’s exactly what it looks like, which is
bad enough, or it’s something worse.

I'm still confused on whether we are to assume Hanna and Caleb slept
together? And I understand Caleb lied to her and was in league with
Jenna, consequently disrupting Hanna's happy time, but I'm not sure
she should have been so rash to kick him out. He quickly admitted to
her everything, even how he refused to go further once he realized
what was going on. The slap Hanna gave Jenna was pretty awesome
though. Even if I felt bad for the girl. Perhaps she is as blind as
we've been told?
Aria: I should just pick a boy, someone nice, and tell my
Mom that’s who I’ve been texting. That would be the simple
solution.

Emily: There’s nothing simple about lying.

Aria was hilarious and so overly paranoid this week as she was afraid
the police would search her room. She got rid of the most subtlest
things in her room that had to do with Ezra, then meanwhile she left a
book that was signed by him and accidentally sent a txt meant for him
to her mother. Also, there's something really missing from the show in
the episodes where Ezra doesn't appear. Please let this happen less in
season 2.
Emily: You wanna hear something funny?

Paige: I would love to hear something funny.

Emily: When I was trying to talk myself into being interested in boys,
I would… look for guys like you.

Paige: Like me how?

Emily: The kind that would pull me up on stage, and… get me to sing…
because I would never do that on my own.

I really disliked Paige when she first showed up on the show, but
lately I've started to like her more and more. I was never really on
the Maya bandwagon anyway. You just know Maya is going to show up
again just as Emily gets comfortable with Paige
anyway.
