1996: AT&T sells satellites

On this day in 1996, communications giant AT&T sold its broadcast satellite division, Skynet, to Loral Space Communications. The $712.5 million AT&T earned from the deal allowed them to become the nation's long-distance phone service powerhouse.

Well, as you may well have already guessed, I started on my TERMINATOR Marathon yesterday....

Starting, obviously, with THE TERMINATOR last night - the Anniversary for which, incidently, is this month as far as when it is Set is concerned....next week, in fact - even though the Movie itself didn't actually come out here until December
