Uh so thanks to TLers I have a few more canon tidbits about Carlos. We know he was using guns since he was a kid and was involved in guerrilla warfare, his organization was wiped out before joining the U.B.C.S., but we never knew what happens in between and OH BOY.
However, after a cleansing operation was enacted by the government against his unit, Carlos was left as the only survivor. After attempting to cross the border through the mountains, Carlos was caught and convicted and sentenced to death, spending weeks in solitary confinement. Prior to his execution, Carlos was personally scouted and bought out of prison by an Umbrella mercenary coordinator who offered him a contract with Umbrella to join the Umbrella Biohazard Countermeasure Service.
