My Enchanted Forest
Someday, I will own a few acres of land and I will create my own enchanted forest. In my forest, I will probably have:
1) Several real trees with fiberglass mouths, eyes and noses, painted to look like the tree. As long as you don't cover a large area or encircle the entire tree, you won't cause great harm. A friend of mine has done this with plaster on oaks and such and then chipped them away later. She's planning to do fiberglass on one of the trees at her new house. I plan to get instructions from her. Though I'll probably be able to read them myself here for free if I wait another month.
2) A stain glass weeping willow. This would be totally (wo)man-made. I would use the glass scraps from my projects and lead-free solder. Using wire, I would create free moving chainlinks with stain glass centers and attach them to "branches" made of steel, connected to some steel pipe, which I would tile more stain glass onto. Might makes roots too. It would be one of those "works in progress" things that I would add to from time to time.
3) A bell tree - sort of resembling a scrub oak. Trunk and branchs of twisted rebarb with rings soldered onto it to attach miniture bells to.
4) Solar-powered fairy-lights.
5) A rose-rock rose bush with copper canes and leaves.
Several interesting plants. I have a list somewhere. Maybe a stone troll or two and some carved wood furniture. Perhaps some phosphorescent stepping stones too.
If my trees are tall enough, I might make some tall platforms and link them together with plank bridges.
