I wanted to write about an experience we had recently with "Security Theater," i.e., the needless application of illogical policies designed to present the illusion of heightened security while not actually making anything safer.

Sorry I forgot to post back about my court date on Tuesday. Well, there isn't much to report anyway; no judgment was issued. I was afraid that would happen, because on Monday night I did some googling on small-claims court procedures and found that they often don't rule right away. I thought I had cleaned out my NetBank account ahead of the deadline for the ING Direct rollover, but it turns out that, unbeknownst to me, I had 39¢ of interest earned since my last login. So I now have an ING Direct savings account with currently 43¢ in it. *facepalm ( Read more... )
