Suprise!

I've surprised myself with taking up a relatively new sport. I haven't played in organized sports in at least 10 years, and boy does it show. Anyways, I've taken up badminton. I say 'relatively' new sport since I did play it a bit in high school as part of gym, and I played tennis quite a bit and I was, possibly still could be, a killer table tennis player.

The suprising part was that I was able to keep up - for nearly 2 hours I was able to play game after game of informal badminton with people alot better than myself, and I was able to hold my own. And I enjoyed myself hugely. I don't know how many times I've heard it from everyone and anyone - exercise is easy if you do what you enjoy. Oh yeah I thought - sweating and laboured breathing and sore muscles where do I sign up? But while all that happened, I was too busy enjoying myself, making decent shots over the net and socializing to realize by the end that I just packed away nearly 2 hours of steady cardio.

So I am going once a week until April then going to try twice a week. Toss in a nice long walk on the weekend and thats my 3 recommended times per week baby.
