I've noticed that there is a definite difference between journaling on paper and doing it here on teh El Jay. I used to keep paper journals religiously, and I also used to update this bloody thing constantly. Not so much as of late, and I'm hoping to remedy that since writing (or, okay, babbling to the page) really does seem to help me sort my thoughts better.

I've got a bunch of new books recently:
Trance-Portation: Learning to Navigate the Inner World by Diana L Paxson
Yoga Nidra: The Meditative Heart of Yoga by Richard Miller
The Goddess Is in the Details: Wisdom for the Everyday Witch by Deborah Blake
Crafting Magick with Pen and Ink: Learn to Write Stories, Spells and Other Magickal Works by Susan Pesznecker

(I checked out all of these books save Yoga Nidra on Lupa's review page before purchasing them; the Yoga Nidra book was actually a gift from my dad.)

I've finished the Blake book. It was pretty decent - felt a bit like an eclectic Wicca 201 book, which STILL seems kinda rare to find even though pagan publishing has been around for fucking ages now. It encouraged thought and personal development, and was the sort of book I'd give my mother because she'd dig it. When we went book shopping for the store on Monday I made sure to get a copy.

Not much to say on either Yoga Nidra or Trace-portation yet because they've got lessons, basically, and you work through the book. So I'm not just burning through them. The writing book is fun so far - it too has exercises but since neither magic nor writing is new to me I feel comfortable skipping some of em. (I don't feel a burning urge to buy a new journal and have a ritual around it, thanks. I just blew dust off my old one and started using it again.)

I also picked up a used copy of Heart Shaped Box again and reread it in like, two days. That book is great, yo.

I am hanging out waiting for Pete and Kat. I am hoping Pete scored for us, as I could not. It's a beautiful day and it would be soooo lovely to get high and go to the beach and relax.
