yikes, I haven't updated since MAY?! That's a bit ridiculous. I suppose I've been busy, but really, its been that I'd rather be doing just about anything else than sitting in front of a computer.
This past Saturday I was 31 weeks pregnant, making me very pregnant indeed. This is the third trimester so we're nearing the end! Soon I can drink a margharita! hee! I've been drinking virgin margharitas but I gotta tell ya, not the same. Also, because I'm obviously with child, I'm apparently not capable of doing anything and I get a lot of "you can't do that, you're pregnant". How folks who didn't live the cushy life I live manage when they're pregnant sure is a mystery. I'm still basically doing whatever the hell I feel like doing. Personally, I think its better for the pregnant not to act like they're dying. Millions of woman have babies and do hard labour. I'm pretty sure I can pick up the occasional box of stuff.
We have so much to do in the next few weeks before the arrival of the bundle of joy that I'm pretty positive it isn't going to get done. I'm hoping that at a minimum Steve gets the cradle ready (even though he isn't even working on it). We're also booked every weekend between now and eternity. Honestly, I don't have time right now to have a baby.
So, the spawn is just over 3lbs and about 16.5 inches long. He's constantly moving and kicking and rolling around in there and its pretty freaking to see him push out my belly. There's an alien in there! eek! At my last mid-wife appointment he was in a great position for birth (head down) so here's hoping he still is. We're getting down to the nitty gritty so I'm suppose to be thinking about labour and pain management and all that jazz. Haven't really. Sunday we go for birth classes, and my mid-wife is also going to go over some basics in August. The spawn could be born now and live, but we're not wanting that, I'd rather wait out the last 9 weeks.
I've gained about 20 lbs so far which is typical I'm told (don't really care, as long as it doesn't stick around afterwards) and the hardest part at this stage is keeping my posture. I have a tendency to just sort of lounge around instead of making an effort to keep the abs and back muscles strong.
Being pregnant in the summer isn't really all that bad. Everyone made it out to be sheer hell, but honestly, I think the third trimester is just plain uncomfortable regardless of the season. I'm just avoiding the heat, staying indoors, and taking it easy. It's all good, so far!
