I just love you, Rob!! :) You always make me smile!! (even though I need to be heading off to bed . . . no, not that way) ;)
I'm sorry you're conflicted about moving your story to the "naughty" section, but I agree - don't change it to try and keep it at "R" if it will disservice the story. Besides, those of us that are into it will follow it to the Bedchamber. :)
I'll be around, sitting on my a$$* all day long, so shoot me an e-mail anytime, or I might even log onto Yahoo!Messenger (if you'll be on too). Just let me know!
I think that despite, as you said, the complexities of your H/G story and the rating, you have a solid number of readers and will continue to have a solid number of readers. Don't sweat it, Rob, it's okay to swear!
Have a good day off tomorrow.
*note the use of symbols to tone down the 'blue language'. It's all for you, Rob.
Actually the dragon reference appears to be the main bone of contention. I'm still waiting to hear back.
I'm not going to grovel for your forgiveness, because I already promised PWH that I'd stop feeling bad about this. But I do feel bad for being so nitpicky. It's the Hermione in me, she can't help it. I hope this isn't the Firebolt incident all over again. ;)
Good lord Jennifer I was not expecting you to grovel at all. So stop feeling bad, I appreciate you doing your job. I just wanted to write about it so thats why I posted it on here. Sure I feel bad, but in now way do I blame you for it. So please stop thinking that I'm upset at you, because I'm not. There hasn't been a thing yet that any of my betas have done that has made me "upset". Okay? There will be no more mention of this then from me. :) Oh Willow, I adore you more each day as well.
Oh, I didn't think you were upset at me. My inclination is to grovel when I've disappointed someone, because I tend to beat myself up over things. (Like when I told PWH that her movie fic needed a little work and she chucked the entire thing). You can mention it all you want. I didn't mean to make you feel like you shouldn't. I certainly would have written an entry about it had I been in your position. Bloody internet and it's inability to show our intentions.
*sigh* well the good news is that I stayed up until 2 am reading the rest of your fic (I had to after what Hermione did to Ron in the past. Grr. No matter what her intentions were, she did lie to him, and I had to see that resolved.) Anyway, I ended up reading Ch 15 and I started betaing it this morning. I'm going to work on it in between bouts of brilliance (hah! yeah right!) on my movie quote fic.
I like the treatment your betas get, Rob ... massage therapist? *wink*
I appreciate the dilemma you and Jenn have over the rating. I know it's sometimes hard to figure out where to draw the line, and moving a story into NC-17 does kind of limit possible readership. But then, I believe you'll have built up a large readership already, and I'm sure they'll follow you into the Bedchamber if you go. Um - I didn't mean that to sound the way it came out.
Sure I could write a wonderful tale of how Charlie Weasley and you climb up Mount Royale and have a wonderful breakfast while the sun rises over the city. But you know Red, I just don't know what would happen after breakfast. ;-) and I couldn't just leave the story like that now could I. So I hope you accept this as your birthday greetings from me. I'm adding *and then they closed the door* and this will have me daydreaming all day. Thank you so, so much for your wishes. :D
It's 6:30 am (enjoy your sleep, btw)<----friendly sarcasm by the birthday girl.
As for the rating...I understand what you mean. Stories have this way of evolving into something we had not expected them to be. I know I've been dying to read that chapter. I'll be following it, whatever rating or words you will use (dragon parts? well that will be interesting.)

Who knows Shiiki, I'm sure that's a long lost benefit for being a male writer on checkmated. Ha! ;-)
