New Year, Same Ideas

I didn't fill out that New Year's meme thing mostly because I forgot and now it seems like its too late to do it. So much for that tradition.

Last year was really, really great actually. I think I was happy for about 75% of the time which is pretty good for me. This year I am determined to make it just as good if not better by keeping up the good routines I got into last year.

My coworker, Saffron, has convinced me to do the Oprah 21 day cleanse with her which I think is a little ridiculous but should also be kind of fun. I enjoy challenges and I've been looking for a way to curb my unhealthy eating habits. Learning to cook French food = happy stomach, sad heart. So much butter! "The Cleanse" is Vegan plus some so I have to cut out gluten and processed sugars as well as all animal products. Boo for the most part but a break from dairy will do me good. I'm not too worried about being meat/ egg free but the cheese and sugar is really going to get to me. Much like the last time I did something like this I have given myself three cheats and they are chocolate chips, pita, and hummus. Could be worse. Once again I'm going to try and keep myself motivated by recording my progress.

edit: Keeping track of everything I eat is going to be not only difficult but pretty boring to read so if I do end up doing it I promise to hide it behind a cut.

I am also hell bent on getting back into shape so I've decided to take the Bowflex 6 week challenge, too. Haha. Oprah and bowflex together at last. The amount of willpower it is going to take to keep at the two of these things simultaneously is something I may not possess but I'll never know if I don't try. Much like budgeting I'm going to have to start small, plan for slip ups, and keep at it regardless. Here's hoping!

Dinner snack: Apple
Dinner: Rice and beans, garlic, ginger, roasted red peppers, and avocado

Breakfast: Apple, orange juice, peppermint tea

10 am and I'm already hungry again.
