Well, I've been here in Glasgow for almost a month now. And in the spirit of trying new things, I've decided to:
- Take up yoga. I found a great series of vids on Youtube called Yogatic, and I've already tried some of the exercises on the ab video. Easy to follow, straightforward instructions. I love it.
- Learn to play the ukulele. I already know how to play piano (I've played for over 10 years) and the flute (high school band), so I can read music. I bought a cheapy uke from a guitar shop (it's yellow like a Tweety Bird!) and have been plinking around with some simple chords. I've read that ukes are like potato chips - you can't stop at just one. It's so true. I've had one for less than 24 hours, and I'm already thinking about saving up to buy a decent tenor uke.
- Learn to swing dance. I'm not sure if this will actually happen. I can't seem to find a decent place within walking distance that teaches adult dance classes. *Sigh* Maybe someday....just not this year.
(PS: My fingers are soooo sore...I'm not used to playing a string instrument - it's harder than it looks!)
