You stood at the scene in front of you, mouth agape while the other passengers unloaded their luggage from the long travel by ship. You sold most of your furniture; knowing you couldn’t bring those with you, but when the first thing you see of your “New Community” is made up a shack on the beach (And three more in the valley from what you heard from two other people) you cursed inwardly that you left your at the very least STABLE lifestyle. Shaking your head, you persuaded yourself to at least attempt to be optimistic. The salty sea breeze that nipped at your ankles and calves was nice. One plus. The sky was the clearest blue you’ve ever seen, and the sun may have shined fiercely, but the heat didn’t beat down. Another plus. The trees were nice, but that’s as far as they look, nice. Not that much of a plus. One of the families now living on this island have a cute son. That’s a super plus! His ivory black hair was messed just right over his ears and almost touching his eyes. He wasn’t really muscular, but it wasn’t like he was a stick either. He was thin, with smooth definitions, his eyes were hidden from a pair of black thick rimmed glasses. He wore a buttoned up green and white plaid shirt with khaki colored cargo shorts and gray flips flop to meet the ‘Tropical Geek’ set. You’re train of thought of pulled to a stop when a hoarse and deep voice from behind spoke to you.

“Are you the new farmer?” You whirled around to look downward at a scrawny old man with a long white mustache, balding hair, and a pot belly. He had on blue overalls and a white t-shirt with a walking stick in one of his gardener’s gloved hands. You nodded and he smiled a tooth-less smile. “I’m Hodong! Come with me, I’m gonna show you the ropes around here for farming. Sarang and Kibum found a worn down house with a large field behind it, so I told them to leave that house for you.” You nodded your thanks and shifted your black and red rucksack higher up as it was slung over your shoulder.

The day passed and by the time sunset rolled around, you knew the names of everyone living here with you. Hodong was the father of a frail and lovely lady named Hyori; who is the mother of Sarang and Kibum. Then A merchant family, Mr. Kim and his son Jaejoong. Lastly, was a carpenter (who actually ended up building his own home) by the name of Taemin. Your house actually looked better inside than outside in your own opinion. It may be small, but the bed, end table, and bookshelf gave it a independent feel that made you relax, especially after the work you had done earlier. After Hodong gave you tutorial about farming, you went straight to work and planted the tomato seeds he had given you, watered them, and when that was done, you traveled all around the village area and other places on the island to collects rocks, weeds, flowers, seaweed, and herbs, all before the deadline of 5:00 pm. You were so ready just collapse into the welcoming lushness and warmth of your bed, but a knock on the door changed your plans. Yawning, you pulled your feet across to open the door. In your doorway was Kibum, holding a plate of what seemed like eggs over rice. You looked at him curiously; more concerned about how he got the eggs when no rancher was here than why he was here offering you food.

“Can I help you, Kibum-ah?” you asked as politely as your state could pull off. He held the plate out for you and you took it from him, nodding thanks.

“We have a family from the city that is in charge of transporting animals. They offered us a basket of eggs since we’re the shipping managers, and I, well, I mean my mother, I did too, but it was mostly her idea, thought that maybe you’d like some to eat. It’s a simple dish, but my mother is a really good cook!” he stuttered while looking at his sandals, curling and uncurling his toes.

“I’ll try them before I go to bed, and tell your mother thank you for thinking of me. Good night Kibum-ah.” You said as you closed the door on him. Nothing rude of course, he had been in the middle of waving good bye when you started to close it.

The next morning, you pushed yourself out of bed and hissed at the cool air that greeted you. You quickly ate a loaf of bread then opened your door; forgetting you were still in your pajamas. You heard a stifled laugh and looked up to see to guys in front of your doorstep.

“Can I help you?” you asked; still bleary-eyed and not realizing you were in your light blue over-sized jersey and navy blue fuzzy slippers. The taller of the two (but not by much) cleared his throat and moved his thick diagonal cut bangs to the side, even though they fell back to their original place.

“I’m Yesung, and this is my little brother Wookie-oof!” the smaller boy elbowed Yesung in the gut, making him topple slightly in pain.

“I’m Ryeowook, and this is my bothersome brother Jongwoon.” He said in a much higher voice than his brother’s deep and velvet tone. You eyed the suspicious turtle that was hanging on for dear life off of Yesung’s shoulder. “And this is his pet turtle, ddangkoma.” Ryeowook added as he rearranged the turtle to a safe spot on the shoulder.

“Ddangkoma!” the said turtle chirped, catching you off as well as guard causing you to grip part of your jersey, now bringing yourself to realize you were wearing a oversize shirt without pants and also wearing slippers. You looked at your slippers and murmured an apology before closing the door in their faces. You hurriedly changed into your farmer clothing and opened the door again. Ryeowook smiled sympathetically and continued the conversation that was put to a previous stand still.

“So, you’re the farmer around this area, correct? My brother’s a fisherman and so he came here for the large abundance of fish. I really, just came along for the ride…” He said a bit sheepishly.

“So what do you do?” you asked with genuine curiosity. Ryeowook beamed and answered with energy.

“I’m a gourmet cook! If there’s anything you need to get cooked, you came to me!~”

“Just don’t offer him food if you aren’t sure about the quality. Out of the goodness of his heart, he stupidly agreed to sample something Sarang made, and before he came here, poor kid was sick for a good several hours.” Ryeowook scowled at Yesung, “Hey, you talk about me while I’m here, I’ll talk about you while you’re here.” He chided. You saw Yesung glaring at Ryeowook and coughed loudly to interrupt their silent fight.

“Um, I’m sorry to interrupt, but I need to water my vegetables and clear my field, so could you two, um..Leave? I don’t want a sibling argument here. Thanks.” You said as politely as possible before you stepped in between them and left to fill up your green watering can. When you were finished with that, the watering can disappeared from your hands and you searched for it, finally noticing Yesung running over to your plants with the watering can and carefully, giving each plant an equal amount of water. Your attention was quickly stolen by Ryeowook, who explained the situation for you as he was carrying a few weeds in his arms.

“This is our way apologizing, since we’re siblings we get into a lot of fights, even in front of people. So we try to make up for our lack of manners and help out anyway we think we can.” He smiled sheepishly once more. You laughed a little at how adorable he was and then said your ‘thank yous’ before continuing the work that needed to be done.

“Hey! ___-ssi! Want to come over to Ryeowook’s with me to have dinner with us?” Yesung offered (You ignored the turtle’s copycat “With Us!”), Ryeowook threw the last log into the material shed and nodded in agreement.

“A meal is best enjoyed with company, I’ll make any dish you want, or a surprise one if you can’t think of any to ask for.”

“Sure, but, where is your house? I’ve only seen the valley and the beach.”

“I live on the beach!” Yesung cheered excitedly. “You can come visit me whenever you want and we’ll go fishing together!” Ryeowook grabbed Ddangkoma off of Yesung’s shoulder then placed her on his head; making the turtle cry.

“It’s in the town, or at least, what’s there. I think a café and diner used to be there, but so far, it’s just me, a well, and…

“And a hyper active one-hit idol who scares the tar out of me! She so demanding and a control freak, I don’t even know why she insists on following me!” Yesung complained, guiding the turtle back to her original spot.

“Who?” you asked taken aback by Yesung’s second outburst, Ryewook motioned for everyone to start walking as he talked and Yesung hid in every shadow he could find to avoid the unaccounted for party.

“Narasha, she’s this one-hit idol who moved to the island on the same ship we did. At first she was just a normal girl but then she started getting really attached to Yesung. Oh-Here she is now.” He explained before pointing out they were blocked by a girl with auburn hair in braids and a kind of dorky outfit for a idol. She wore knitted leg warmers and a red puffy vest with black rimmed glasses almost covering half of her face. Yesung slunk even further into the darker areas, but his attempt were proven futile. All Narasha needed was a glimpse of Yesung and she somehow appeared right next to him and was already dragging a terrified Yesung out into the open.

“Sungie!~ There you are! Where have you been this whole time? C’mon I promised you’d that we’d go fishing tonight.”

“I-uh, Um…” he looked over at you desperately or help.

“He’s going back home right now so he can spend with his brother. I don’t think you should intrude on their family time.” You reasoned to her. She looked at you, not faltering her smile.

“Who are you?” she asked with probably genuine curiosity. You were taken aback by her tone and stammered your answer, now YOU were the one looking for help. Ryeowook read you like a book and without fail or delay took over the situation where you left off.

“She’s the new farmer here, came in a little earlier then we did, so none of us saw her on the ship we boarded.” He answered, Narasha formed her mouth into a perfect ‘O’ before waving good bye and running off.

“We’ll go fishing tomorrow then! ___-ssi! You should come with us!”

Yesung let out a long and leaded sigh.

“C’mon, let’s leave already, I don’t want to run into anyone else…” you and Ryeowook nodded in agreement and continued to your destination.

Chapter One END
A/N: It was a tie between Wookie and Sungie, so i comprimised.
PLEASE PLACE YOUR VOTE FOR NEXT CHAPTER'S HEART EVENT. I'd like to avoid ties, as you can see, they're possible to work with, butI rather have it be one definite heart event.
