Himself's EMT pay and his Social Security both arrived today via direct deposit, and between the new dishwasher, the electric bill, and the phone-and-internet bill, most of it promptly went right back out again.
But all these things were necessary. I suppose it's just as well for the budget that we weren't able to go to Albacon this month, as we would in normal times, but as a way to economize I can't really recommend a pandemic.
Meanwhile, I continue to cast my hook into the editorial waters, and hope for a nibble. (Also, I await with curiosity the fall ebook royalties from Tor, because the sales from our scant handful of self-pubbed shorts on Amazon have been up the past couple of months - not breaking into the double digits, because there aren't that many of them, but still noticeably higher than usual - and I'm wondering if it's the pandemic effect.)
Also, it snowed again last night. Sloppy rain, now, all chilly and clammy. I suspect it's going to be one of those winters, and I'm not going to be properly warm again until spring.
