"i didn't know people could be this ignorant and stupid"
then you're stupid. and ignorant.\
"Wicca is a religion dating back past the start of christianity"
no it's not. it's a hodge-podge mish-mash of practices, superstitions, and taboos that have been around for who knows how long. but it hasn't been a religion or actual faith for very long at all, and it doesn't look like there even was a "wicca" before the 1920's. it was invented or officialized in the 1950's. now compare that to a religion like, say, buddhism or islam. in fact, "wiccan" practices were often observed in tandem with whatever faith followed by the populace of the time. there are a lot of books that well tell you "wicca has been around since the beginning of time", but that's just a lie used to add legitimacy and meaning with the false impression that age gives purpose to a relgious devotion. as for being older than christianity, that's a real difficult thing to do. christianity has been official since, like, the year three hundred something, and it was a crazy cannibal cult long before that too!
"do their research before putting down a lot of people and their beliefs."
reading comprehension. i didn't express any sort of distaste or disapproval of wicca or wiccans. the fact is, wicca is young. the fact is, an old, powerful, and important organization wouldn't and shouldn't rush to recognize every cult that pops up over the decades. it's good that the u.s. government is now recognizing wicca as a valid spiritual tool, but i'm also glad that they took their time doing so. it proves that the teachings of wicca can survive persecution and hardship. now, if that's putting down a lot of people and their beliefs, i don't care, because it would mean those people aren't good at reading, and probably don't have a good reason for the things they believe in.
"You sir are ignorant"
we're ALL ignorant. but it takes a special kind of ignorant to express a deep and considerable devotion for a faith you don't even understand(that would be you, it seems). it's must be disappointing that a silly non-believer totally has done more in-depth reading and study than someone who claims to be part of the old faith. seriously, why do you even practice wicca if you don't know too much about it? is it because your wife makes it look cool? is it because you need the illusion of control over your life through the use of magicks? is it because you lack the patience to delve deeply into any spiritual practice at all, so you just sorta took the first one that appealed to you? STUDY YOUR OWN FAITH. WICCA IS A LITTLE BIT COOLER THAN YOU ARE GIVING IT CREDIT FOR.
"you can't even say "hello" to a random stranger"
i can, i just usually don't. why would i?
"This world owes you nothing"
i learned this a long time ago, and it seems like it's something you're still struggling with. the world doesn't owe you anything, clown. especially not respect. it shouldn't surprise you that people think you're a moron, and it shouldn't surprise you that they don't respect your religious-like feelings.
"racist comments i've seen you make"
being that you misinterpret the very same faith you claim to follow, i'm not too surprised if you misinterpret the words regularly coming out of their mouths or the context involved. i dated a mexican for a period of time. i went to my highschool dances with a black girl. according to one social circle, i'm an honorary nigga. i'm not going to say something lame like 'i don't see colour', but i'm certainly not negatively predisposed towards anyone over something as trivial as ethinic background.
"You are the biggest joke i've ever seen"
good. anyone who takes me too seriously needs to take a look at their sense of perspective. i'm just a person, with no more power or influence than most, and a great deal less than many. my opinions don't actually mean anything, and my personal stance on something doesn't actually matter at all. it's good that you've been laughing, because that's the only real response to make.
one last comment, because i talk too much, and this is too long.
clown: you are a moron. i'm not going to continue to argue with you, because i don't actually care about anything you've got to say. you're too stupid to be important to me, and you don't treat your associates well so i don't even have a reason to care about the way you(incorrectly)think. the only reason i'm here is because mmmmk told me to come here. so this is it. i'm going to respond on the behalf of someone else, because i don't even have enough interest to care about this unless someone else is asking me to. say whatever you want if you feel like you've got to have the last word. i'm not even going to defend myself against it, or even read it probably, so make sure it's something really offensive and insulting, so you can look cool in front of whoever bothers to read your personal journal(which is probably also filled with uneducated inconsistencies...).
Then leave the bandwidth wasting comments out, Ryan...it's just that simple man...if "mmmmk" asked you to do it...write a letter...don't waste time making frivolous comments, go see Karen.
lol, i haven't asked anyone for anything. you think ryan would get involved in my own personal affairs if he didn't have some sort of involvement himself? you forget that it was he that clown originally insulted. i believe i am perfectly capable of holding my own.
i believe the exact wording in his comment was "i responded because you asked me to take a look." and i believe my wording was "P.S. you should check out Clown's Livejournal page, he's got a few things to say to you." has it really just gotten this petty? is that what this has degraded to? what happened to the somewhat intelligent discourse we were having?
"why do you even practice wicca if you don't know too much about it? is it because your wife makes it look cool?"
I practice for a sense of balance in my life. I was also practicing before i even met my wife. It's not about being cool, it's not about going against the grain of things or fitting in. It's about self improvement and happiness.
As for your "respect" who cares your just as worthless to me as i am to you.
As for my "associates" as you put it. The only one i've ever done bad to was Mk. I have my reason and i've stated them in another post here.
"the world doesn't owe you anything, clown. especially not respect. it shouldn't surprise you that people think you're a moron, and it shouldn't surprise you that they don't respect your religious-like feelings."
I believe I have to work for everything in this world so telling me that does nothing. As for being a "moron" that's obviously your opinion. Respect is not my issue my issue is understanding. If people don't want to take the time to understand my beliefs, my opinions then that's where i get offended.
as upset as i am with you, at least you can admit that you've done me wrong, for your own reasons. i guess part of what got me though was the fact that you never really told me why, or really bothered to explain anything to me, instead all you left was a hazy, melodramatic message on Myspace saying "hope everything goes great for you. bye." at least Addy IMed me and talked to me about it. so, now you know how i feel, i somewhat know how you feel, or felt, and we have come to the decision that our differences are irreconcilable. sad when friends become enemies, no?
then you're stupid. and ignorant.\
