Starbucks doesn't buy officially fairtrade certified beans from what I know, but compared to pretty much every other place on the planet they're doing pretty well, and I do like that.

I'm not sure about the tea steeping time; I've read from a few sources that modern tea brews faster because tea bags are made with smaller chunks of leaf...more surface area = faster brewing. On the other hand I don't know what kind of tea Starbucks uses (Tazo?) and they may be using a more luxury brand with bigger leaves. For Lipton and shit you definitely want no more than 60 seconds.

Last: You have to get a coffee master pin. You simply HAVE to. I will not accept any excuses.

yeah they use (and own) tazo tea, whose tea leaves are not so small so they need time to seep. they also do buy fairtrade coffee from what i understand. and yes i need the pin, and must become a coffee master. it's like a pokemon master for adults. gotta taste them all!

I haven't seen the fairtrade logo anywhere around Starbucks, but it's quite possible I missed it. you'll have to show me around when I come to visit you and demand free drinks.
