Idiocy?

You ever wonder why friends act the way they do?

Specific scenario in mind here.

I have a friend who is going to have a wedding here soon. A very, very close friend. Now, I don't particularly like who she is marrying, partially because I think it is foolish for her to jump into this a mere 4 days after meeting the guy, and partially because the fool called me up and threatened me physically.

I have my pride at times, and I don't put up with jackasses who act like children simply because I am hanging out with my best friend when my best friend decided to do something. (She got stoned) So, he wants to call and apologize, but I don't see a reason to give it a chance really. Perhaps I have become jaded and cynical in life. (Nah, really?)

In any case, despite assurances from both himself and I, she has decided to leave me out of the wedding. Well, frankly, it is important (in my world at least) to be invited to such things when someone considers you their best friend. Her refusal to have me there insults not only our friendship and the trust I thought was there, but me personally in the fact that apparently she doesn't think me civilized enough to enjoy a night of being happy for her sake.

It isn't like the night is about me or anything, and I would never take that happiness from her. But anyways, it just sounds like the death knell of the friendship, which really is a pity.

Now before people ask, yes I did tell her how I felt about this and that I was angry and hurt that she was excluding me. Currently, I have yet to receive a response as she is avoiding my calls and not responding to any form of communication. I haven't quite chalked it up to an experience in life I am done with, but it's close. It has almost been a week. Anyways, off to bed with me. Work in the morning. Peace.
