Shameless US

I'm watching Shameless US. It's not like one can expect much from a remake, but it's not so bad. It lacks the fun of the UK version- there was a lot of music, which made things more light-hearted. It's a bit bleaker, it exposes the seriousness of the situation- a bunch of children paying the electric bill- much more. The speech at the beginning is a bit slow, too.

The cast is all right, I guess. Don't get why Liam is black- *he* was always Frank's kid- but all the others are great.

The episode was good, I liked it. The Fiona and Steve bit was great and so was the whole Lip walking in on Ian and Kash. It's not much changed, and I'd guess not for the rest of the first season. I hope it takes off and doesn't do what the British one did- for all I like it, I hate that most people walked out, practically all my favourite characters except Frank.

So, good health to it!

I've been lazy and didn't even review the Doctor Who Christmas Special- which I actually loved. It surprised me, given the mixed feelings I had about the fifth series. I was just too tired, between finals and the holidays. The summer's been raging down here, though, so I'm spending too much time inside with my air conditioning- sometimes I don't even go outside for days- so maybe I'll find the time to rewatch and review later. I still have to make a post about my HP related tatoo, which I did get and is healing. I'll put pictures up once it doesn't look too icky.
