I was in the field this week and things alternated between horribly hot and humid on the one hand and cold and rainy on the other. That's the way things go sometimes, but it reinforced the feeling that I had somehow missed spring. I noticed a tree of the same kind as the flowering tree down the street had already bloomed and was dropping its petals. It seemed like just a moment ago everything was still dead and brown. That must be a holdover from being up in northern Minnesota. Having the weather alternate between March and July didn't improve my mood. I felt better when I got home and saw that some more bulbs in the garden were about to bloom. I hope I actually get to see the blossoms. I have no idea anymore what these bulbs were or what the flowers are supposed to look like.

This weekend is going for the cold and rainy alternative, which is making everything dark and depressing but also giving me a good excuse to stay indoors and work on costuming.
