I was out in the thick of things yesterday. I had field work up north. It started out fine, by the end it was snowing heavily (with actual accumulation) and our gloves were soaked through. The wool I was wearing everywhere else did it's job keeping me warm and dry but I really wish I'd bought those ice fishing gloves when I had the chance last winter. I think they'd be the perfect liner layer for a pair of (somewhat over-sized) winter work gloves for cold, wet weather - insulated and water proof. The drive home took more than an hour longer than the drive up had. It was a full on blizzard to start with and while it turned to rain by the time we got back into town, on the way we say two cars in the ditch, two that had spun out, and the tracks of a fifth that had gone into the median ditch and then found its way back out on its own. It didn't even feel that slippery!
