I hope that whatever is depressing you is somewhere on the lighter scale of doom. I am thinking of you and I am here if you need someone to talk. *hugs*

That is actually some great news! I was wondering what had become of the poor kids and the custody battle. I am relieved to hear the kids are as fine as possible under those less than ideal circumstances.

Thanks. I still think they could use some counselling to help them make sense of what's happened, but they're doing better than they have in years.

Thank you. It's a load off everyone's mind. If Amy ever wants to reestablish a relationship with them, she'll have to meet with CPS first. If they agree it's in the kids' best interest to see her again, she'll have to have visits with a court-approved supervisor. I hope she eventually gets herself straightened out enough to have some kind of relationship with them. As screwed up as she is, she's still their mother.

Such a relief to know he was granted full custody.

I hope whatever is causing you distress gets worked out.

It truly is! Now that he has full custody, not only are the kids safe - which was everyone's first concern - but my brother is free to make decisions for the kids that their mother never would have allowed. For instance, Hayden is behind his peers because of being shoddily home schooled for so long, and then missing so many days once he was finally enrolled in public school. This year, my brother found an open enrollment school specializing in helping kids like Hayden get caught up to where they need to be. The only downside is he has to provide transportation - a 60 mile round trip twice a day. So far, Hayden hasn't missed a day since he was enrolled.

wonderful news about the kids! I'm sorry your in the dumps, my dear and I apologize for being absent. I hate my new job, the money--- even with overtime that sometimes runs to 12 hour days, isn't worth it. Anyway I miss you and am thinking about you and otters who play hacky-sac do to! (((hugs)))

I'm sorry to hear the new job isn't a good fit! I guess that explains why you've been so quiet, though.

(((HUGS)))
