Blind leading the blind...

So Tuesday evening, Karma, Joni, and I finally got together to celebrate Joni's birthday.  So what if we're a few weeks late?  At least we're not celebrating it on Labor Day like we did a few years ago.  We went over to Joni's house to look at pics of Karma's wedding and I showed them pics of Angela's wedding.  We then headed off to dinner at some Thai restaurant in Meridian.  After dinner, we went to Boondocks to play some video games and miniature golf.  I haven't been there in ages and we had fun.  We decided to play a few video games...this helicopter game totally kicked my ass.  I could not navigate and crashed into the wall too many times to count.  After a few minutes, Karma and I decided to call it quits.  But I do have to say that I did fairly well at the Die Hard game...of course, it doesn't hurt that I had an unlimited number of lives.

After about a half an hour we headed out to the miniature golf course.  I, of course, lost with a score of 49 which is partly due to the fact that it took me five strokes to get the ball in the damn hole at one point.  But I did get a hole in one once so I'm happy.

Anyhoo, you're probably wondering about the subject of this post, right?  Well yesterday I had to call Angela to ask her an international traveling question and the Boise airport.  I left a message and she called me back and told me she was in Chicago (which I had totally forgotten) with her mom to see her brother graduate from basic training at the Great Lakes Naval Base.  She helped answer my question in like 5 minutes.  In turn, she asked me how to get around Chicago and how she could get from Downtown to the Naval Base for the graduation as well as from her hotel back to O'Hare.  It took nearly an hour (because the damn Naval Base's website wouldn't give me an actual address!) but we figured out what train she needed to take to get the Great Lakes and back AND what time she should get El stop to catch the blue line to O'Hare Saturday morning.  I'm so proud of myself.  The only thing we had an issue with was which station she needed to leave out of to get to Great Lakes:  Union or Ogilvie and her map was no help whatsoever.  According to the Metra site, she needed to leave at station on Madison and Canal and her map didn't show a station there and neither did Yahoo! Maps.  And at the time, I wasn't smart enough to figure out that if clicked on a certain link, it would tell me which station she would need.  Fortunately for the both of us, my friend Emily (who lives in Chicago) was able to tell us which station (Ogilvie) she needed to leave from and gave us a few tips.

Like I said, it's like the blind leading the blind...
