He'd been calm, friendly (to a certain point) and some what pleasant with the staff and other patients. He did not want to end up in intensive care.
But on the back of his mind Raito couldn't help but grow irritated over that short boy with the bluish hair that was so rude to him at the book club, or whatever it was. It weighted on his mind like the laugh of the shinigami that shadowed his movements. It made him want to hurt the boy, teach him a lesson only Kira cold.

So here he sat, one night he couldn't sleep, lurking in the darkest corner of the night room, his chin cradled in the palm of his hand, looking bored as ever.

He'd watch people come an go, and out of all of them, only one really caught his eye. It was that rude little boy from the other night.

It seemed not only a god of death was on his side tonight.

"Hello..."

A part of Zexion didn't even want to look up when he heard the quiet greeting. It probably wasn't meant for him (though he hadn't seen any other people when he entered; if he had missed this one, he could have missed more. Why would someone be saying hello to him, anyway?) and even if it was, he wasn't interested in having a conversation. More often than not he liked to be left alone.

However, he found himself turning to peer around the back of his chair where the voice had come from, at least wanting to see who it was. He noted the shadows that covered the other male, but after a mere moment he recognized him as Raito. The one that had caused Watanuki and L all that trouble, and a minor nuisance to Zexion as well.

Similar to the first time they crossed paths, Zexion only raised an eyebrow at the boy as if to say 'we already went through this last time,' and turned back to his books. Honestly, he didn't see the person that Watanuki said he was; Raito was only an annoyance. Couldn't he see that the smaller male was perfectly fine ( ... )

So. This was a frequent thing with this boy. Raito would greet him, and he would in turn be ignored. It was beginning to unsettle him.

He watched as the boy turned back to his books, waiting for his moment. It didn't take long, and when Raito figured that the boy was deeply emerged in his book, Raito stood with out a sound. He stepped closer, making sure each slow foot fall was no louder then a feather drop.

He reached his destination, just behind the boy, standing over him with a dark glint to his eyes, the rough, scratchy laugh of the shinigami filling his ears. Slowly, so slowly he reached down, cupping a firm hand over the boys mouth. There was no want for his screaming now.

"You've angered Kira, boy. It's time to be taught a lesson in respect."

Startled out of his thoughts, Zexion tensed and dropped his book in surprise. His hands went to the one Raito had over his mouth, pulling at it insistently and letting out a muffled yelp.

He had snuck up behind him? How had he let that happen? Cursing silently at his own absent-mindedness, Zexion looked up at the other male, flinching slightly at the look in his eye. If he had just been paying more attention, he could have gotten up before Raito even grew near, and possibly escape. There was nobody else in the room. This was a horrible situation for him to be in, and he couldn't believe that he had let himself into it without realizing it.

Obviously Raito was a very different person than he let on.

In his slowly mounting panic, the seated boy noticed that Raito called himself by a different name. This confused him, but he didn't stay idle, trying to yank the boy's hand away from his mouth so he could at least he could yell for help. There had to be a nurse somewhere close . . .
