Way past time update....
Well hello again, and like Amy says, I'm still alive. It's been a while cause I kept putting this off but...well Im baaack!
Want to say a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Kiara and Kara! I'm not sure when you're having your party girls but make sure to have someone walk the plank just for me okay? Oh and Kiara, you say a big thank you to your Mommy, she thought you were so special she brought your birthday stuff back from England! I hope to talk to you soon.
A big hello to Heather...sorry Heather I fell through on our deal! Sorry. I didn't get the Pathfinder stuff I was doing done until 9:30 that night and really didn't feel like typing anymore so I'm doing it this morning. Congrads and I hope we hear from you often (well as often as we write anyway).
Most interesting this that's happened to be in the last 2 weeks was being'reprimanded' by the Municipal CAO and the Mayor. Oh yeah, I got the big guys. For those of you who have been unfortunate enough to hear me talking about the current staff situation here you'll know why I took the 'reprimand' (and I say that cause it's wasn't official, apparently I'm young, new to the job and doing it well so they wouldn't make it a black mark on my record) with a tiny grain of salt. We're not even going to tell the other Board Members about it. THe funniest thing about it was taht I got reprimanded for saying something that they didn't like, and they didn't even understand what I was saying! Yeesh.
The biggest change lately to the next year would be Pathfinders. The unit has expanded 300% (which isn't hard when you've only got one girl but we're all looking on the bright side) and we now have 4 girls! Three of them are first years who are really excited and we've also got a new program so we're all starting fresh. I've looked at the new program and it has it's pros and cons. I'm going to see how it works out. I've got another guider working with me who should be great. She was in Brownies before this so she's also going to be new at it. Our first meeting is on Thursday and we'll just see how things go from therem.
I just got the coolest new printer. My old one died over the weekend and with Pathfinders approaching I really needed one so I went to Staples and got one. That neat thing is that it has a paper tray tha tgoes inthe bottom and it can pull paper from there, just like a laser printer. You don't have to have the paper floping over and getting dirty and stuff. The other REALLY cool thing is that it double sides all by itself!!!!! it is so convient, and I've used it a bunch of times already.
I think someone has been feeding my cat catnip cause she's just been nutso of the last few days. My mom got this bright yellow stress ball from a co-worker and Misty has taken to playing with it like a kitten. I'm watching her right now. Sorry, side bar. Back to our regularaly scheduled programming.
Haven't talked to Casey in a while for those wondering, think things are pettering out. We were having problems coming up with conversation topics other ten his ex-wife...oh well. We'll see.
I've been reading the Stargate Fan Fiction Awards stories (voting ends on Sunday!) and I came across a really neat one about Camulus/OC. It was really well written and I was really into it and wouldn't you know it...it's not finished!!!! Yeesh. I'll send the link to anyone who'd like to read.
As for the next little while October is goign to be very busy. I've got a 5 day course in North Bay the first week, our antiques event at the museum is the second weekend, and then the 3rd week will be taken up with the Ontario Museums Association Conference (I'm one of the host museums since they're having it in Owen Sound). Then my Assistant finishes on the 27th. I'm not looking forward to that since at this moment she's the only one unpacking. HOpefully by that point we'll be done unpacking but you never know!
So there you have it. I'm off to work now and then on Friday I have my first day of teaching, all day in Flesherton for a Math class. Don't know which one yet, I should call and find out.
