Apparently I have an affinity for British alcoholic spinsters. If I'm Bridget Jones in my thirties, I'm going to be Patsy Stone in my fourties and up. Now I just need an Edina Monsoon and a couple of plastic surgeries too much, and my life will be complete. Wonder if anyone will volunteer if I casually bring it up in conversation.
"Hi, listen, you wouldn't want to move to England with me, live off of booze and cigarettes, get high with me occasionally, have an ugly, smart-ass daughter, support me through hypothetical menopause and spout curse words with every breath? Cheers, thanks a lot."
I ran into Rachel yesterday! Randomly bumped into her at the corner store the other day, she'd only just gotten back from California to visit her dads. I swear she's gotten a tan. She looks amazing, she really does. It might be me missing her, or not having seen her since high school, but she looks great. I think California has done her a lot of good - or at least, getting away from Ohio. She didn't seem like herself, though. Quiet.
I invited her out for coffee and drinks later to talk about her feelings and woes. That's going to be a first since coming home. All I've really done is mingle so far, vaguely chatting with almost-friends I barely spoke to in high school. Aside from Puck and Quinn and he-who-shall-not-be-named, I haven't seen anyone. It's going to be nice, getting to know people all over again.
Checking Facebook - Quinn invited me to a party at her and Puck's house. I can't see who else they invited, but it shouldn't matter. Probably the ones in New Directions who are in town. I think it's going to be fun! Who could be coming, though? I wouldn't want to over/under-dress...
Important people I know are in Lima at the moment:
1. Quinn
2. Puck
3. Santana
4. Rachel
5. Jesse (does he count? I think so, he's alright.)
Sounds about right. So it will probably be a modest party. I still think it's going to be fun. Now I just have to decide what to bring and what to wear. Shouldn't take me too long.
Wait. Write truthfully. I'll probably take forever.
