(no subject)
Hey.
I have to go back to work today. I'm bummed. I just had a week off, and it was nice. I sat around a lot, cleaned some, spent way too much time in front of the tv and computer. I had lots of time to relax. Joe was (and still is, our vacations aren't exactly the same length or same days) home, and he is enjoying it too. He's been sick with a cold all week, but other than that he's been having a good time.
Joe did a lot of cooking. He made chicken marinated in Italian dressing (good), "southwestern" steak, which sat in the fridge under a pile of onions, green peppers, and jalapenos for two days (really good), and burgers that he let marinate for a day and nearly fell apart on the grill (really good). I think he might be making a ham today. We got the ham last Christmas from his work, and we need to make room in the freezer for when we get another ham. He also gets a turkey around Thanksgiving, which is cool.
So yeah, back to work. Blah. I have to work Halloween night, and so does Joe, so no handing out candy for us! I also have to work on Thanksgiving, but only a 4 or 5 hour shift, which is reasonable, although I don't know what time I will be working yet. Joe has Thanksgiving off though, the lucky boy! We both have Christmas off, it's the only holiday I'm guaranteed off every year.
I think the cats weren't used to us being around so much! They were super clingy and purry for a few days. They really liked all the petting and attention, I think. I try and spend a few minutes with them every day, but when we're here all day, they follow us around like little furry shadows. :)
Well, time to get ready for work! My time off was nice while it lasted!
