(no subject)
Hey,
6 days till we move! We move next Monday, the 2nd. We got a copy of our new lease in the mail at the end of last week, and we have been packing little by little all week. I would say we're at least half done with packing. I am so glad that we've been doing a few boxes a day, it seems less daunting that way. After we move, we will have a lot of cleaning and fixing of this place. That is what I am not looking forward to. We have to undo a lot of feline-inflicted damage to our apartment (scratched up carpet, scratched up doorframes, etc.).
Joe has the next two days off, but after that he is at his new store for two days, then the old one again for a day, and then we move. I don't think his days off will be too relaxing, though. I have been filling boxes, and he has been labelling and moving them. Since he is the one most likely to be home in the daytime, he has been the one making all of the calls to get things arranged.
I managed to get a transfer at work, although my boss was none too happy about it. She gave me the "look of death" when I told her I had to leave. But she has been immensely helpful with my transfer. When I was having a problem with the computer (which turned out to be on the other store's end of things), my boss got on the phone and got it all straightened out. She also told the managers there that I am a good worker, so that always helps. They didn't have an opening in my current position, so I will be taking a pay cut, but that's ok. I start on the 4th, and since it's a holiday, I will get to do my current job for a couple of days, since no one really wants to work evening on the 4th, and I have nothing better to do. At least this way they will see what I can do. :)
And if you thought packing and transferring and moving wasn't fun enough, there's more! My birthday is on Friday. Plans so far are working, walking home, and sitting home by myself since Joe will be two hours away at his new work. But it couldn't have come at a better time. Joe's lovely grandparents sent me a cute birthday card with a check inside, and we sure could use the money about now, so it's perfect timing. :)
So that's what's happening. I might do another update before I move, and then it will be a while because it looks like we won't have internet for at least a week or two. I guess I will have to read books or something till we have the money to get internet hooked up at the new place. :)
