Chick Lit? Nay, more than that!

Intelligent, witty and touching, The Lost Art of Keeping Secrets is a timeless book whose 1950s setting does not limit the reading experience because its themes resonate across generations. One word - charming! :)

Marian Keyes' books are hits and misses for me, although the ones about the Walsh sisters are generally gems. While I disliked the insipid Angels (the one about Margaret), I loved Rachel's Holiday for its emotional resonance balanced with wry humour and acute insights.

Like Rachel's Holiday, Anybody Out There made me cry and laugh out loud in turn. In this touching yet amusing book, Marian Keyes writes about loss with alacrity. This, together with the searing way in which she conveys her protagonist's emotions, is strong reason for her continued popularity. Anybody Out There is undeniably one of her best.
