This is DS Ray Carling, speakin' on behalf of the Police.

For those in the public who might not be aware, we've arrested Harold Saxon, also known as the Master, in connection with a number of unsolved cases. Although I'm not obliged to release further information at this point, I can assure you that we're doin' all we can.

[OOC: Might I assume this was posted after Miles' intro post yesterday? If so, he's been trolling the network trying to get a feel for the place, so it makes sense he would comment on this.]

DS Carling, it is a pleasure. My name is Miles Edgeworth. Having heard of your investigation into a string of murders from Miss Romana, it would seem congratulations are in order. Are you able to release a list of Mr. Saxon's charges?

[ooc; You might! This post isn't meant to be until the evening/night, anyway. They do have to fit in catching/settling in the Master first, after all. :)]

No. Already said I couldn't release nothin', didn't I? S'standard not to, 'less the whole thing's pretty much sorted.

[OOC: Edgeworth got shot down. He's totally not used to that XD edit note: You didn't see how much I fail at life *shifty eyes*]

I see. Well, DS Carling, it's a pleasure to make your acquaintance either way. I've only recently arrived in this...er...place, and you'll have to forgive me. I'm used to being privy to criminal information. I'm a prosecutor.

[ooc; Poor Edgeworth. Ray's good at that! He doesn't tend to make exceptions, especially for people talking like ponces. And I haven't, actually. But I shall just as soon as the notif comes through. :P]

[Ray chuckles, apparently forgetting he's a fairly recent arrival himself.] Should've said. 'Fraid we 'aven't even got a proper court 'ere, mate. I'm tellin' you, you don't know 'ow much you miss a lawyer 'till you've got no use for 'em. Still, I've always been more fond of your sort than the defence.

Although judgin' by the way this one bird's goin' on you might not be out of a job jus' yet. Keep an eye out, we might wind up needin' you.

So I've heard, DS. So I've heard. It's only understandable, of course. We are on the same 'team' so to speak.

In regards to the case against Mr. Saxon, would you care to answer one, simple, yes or no question?

Sendin' down evil scumbags? Shouldn't even be another team.

Depends of the question.

Checks and balances, DS.

Do you have decisive evidence against Mr. Saxon?

Don't I know it...

Circumstantial. Lots of it, but circumstantial. Should be watertight by all rights, but you know 'ow these things are.

You do realize, with nothing but circumstantial evidence, you'll be forced to release him unless a witness steps forward, right? Do you have a witness?

Stupid sod went and ate someone when 'is device was on. 'Ow many witnesses d'you think we could 'ave?

'Sides, things are different 'ere. Technically we don't even 'ave a proper law.

Is this a video of the incident in question?

Which makes your entire investigation and apprehension of Mr. Saxon quite pointless, but that, I suppose, is beside the point.

Wouldn't've been able to tell, otherwise.

Yeah, well. Can 'ardly jus' let 'im walk after doin' that, can we?

So this evidence is, without a doubt, a recording of the crimes for which he was arrested? Where might I review it?

Considering the shaky ground on which this case is standing, you may not have much choice, DS.

On the Network somewhere. I 'aven't got the 'ang of this thing properly yet, but I can try an' find and send it.

Oh, flamin' Nora. I knew there were a reason I 'ated lawyers. What 'appened to being a prosecutor, eh?

I would very much appreciate it, Sargent.

I assure you, Carling, I would like nothing more than to see this man imprisoned for the duration of his stay in this place, but without decisive evidence and a strong public desire in the absence of specific laws dictating his incarceration, I'm afraid neither you nor any other member of the police department will have much say in the matter.

[Edgeworth finally receives this, say... twenty minutes later.] There. Think that's done it.

If 'e admits 'e's guilty, then the public aren't goin' to stand up for 'im, are they? 'Sides, I'd say the visual's pretty decisive.
