Sylar hasn't been around for a couple of days. He'd had to check up on a few things, and was using the PINpoint to do it. He hadn't been 'home' in far too long.
So by the time he returns to the small apartment they were now living in (the single mother was no longer in a state to mind, and neither was her child), Sylar was exhausted. Hopefully, Smokey would just leave him alone and let him sleep when he got back home, but- he doubts it. The most he could hope for in that department would be if she was out finding something to eat.
