The Year In Review
It has been just over a year since my last post, and depending on your point of view, with good reason.
First of all, as many of you know, I am now a father. This has been a bewildering experience, and very time consuming as well. However it did involve family planning. It also involved an intense mid-life crisis. I think that's a fairly valid statement considering the current lifespan of the north american male.
The other reason I haven't written is something many more of you can relate to. I didn't know where to start. And then time passed and I really didn't know where to start. I think this is the leading cause of procrastination. Or perhaps its definition.
Here is the part where I lose patience with forming complete paragraphs and resort to point form...
7am December 7th 2005: Kailer David Joseph was born. The debate goes on as to whether I had anything to do with his first name. However the other two names, plus his surname were surrendered to me. 3 out of 4 ain't bad. This way he has a plethora of names to fall back on in case he doesn't like his given one. And I know what you're thinking... David Joseph spells DJ. Incidental I tell you! Joseph is in honour of my father (RIP) and David is in honour of my best man. Best man you say?!
January 1st 2006: Oh right I'm married now too. We had seen footage of Elle's sister getting married in Kenya, and it looked perfect. So that's what we did. I was married at an Italian villa on a cliff overlooking the Indian Ocean. 4 foot waves. Free champagne. Swimming. Pizza. Acrobats. I shit you not! Acrobats happened to be passing through and gave us a show!
