I'm in the process of backing up my music and documents so that I can install an additional hard drive (an internal 160GB I got from my dad a while ago). This should resolve my space issue for a little while, (apparently, I've accumulated 23GB of music over the last year or two, and that's not counting the hundreds of cd's that still haven't made the transition into the 21st Century)but this whole project has me thinking about more long-term solutions.
I will be getting a laptop later this year, and I want to get rid of my bulky computer at that point. I'm thinking of going with an external mini hard drive for my complete files, and keeping a more selective/current list for my laptop/ipod.
Seagate is making a 160GB external mini(comparatively,at least) that looks like it would fit my needs. But, if anyone has suggestions or solutions, I'd love more input. My main purpose is to minimize physical space as much as possible while dealing with an increasing amount of data.
And I don't want to delete out my music. Sometimes I get an urge to hear something and I like knowing it is readily available to me.
