I wasn't very productive today, and actually spent most of the day napping and watching bad movies. My trips out of the house were restricted to an obligatory trip to the gym (I hadn't worked out since Tuesday, and was feeling guilty) and then to CVS to pick up some Airborne and Propel. I think I've just been overdoing it for the last few weeks, and it caught up with me. I'm feeling a little better at this late point in the evening and plan to get plenty of rest tonight. An important and potentially difficult final is coming up on Thursday and I need to be in top shape for it.

The short update:

* I was at a networking event a short time ago and someone mentioned to me that I seemed very passionate about affordable housing issues. When I reflected upon it, I realized that I had in fact been talking about it for most of the night. This has now led me to narrow my focus for job searches after school. It's exciting to obtain even more tangible short term goals, and stressful to know that I have a lot of work to do over the next year if I want to make it happen.

* My dad's eye is healing very nicely since the surgery a month ago. He should regain full eyesight (without big bubbles distorting his view) within the next few weeks.

* My dad is a long time fan of Westerns. I had the chance to watch My Name is Nobody with him over the holiday. Not only was it a fun movie, but it was also a great bonding experience.

* Saw The Fountain over the weekend. It was visually stunning, but probably bit off more than it could chew in terms of subject matter. Although I enjoyed it and will probably watch it again, it doesn't act as the opus I thought I would be for Aronofsky.

* My jalapeno plant has started to sprout! I have been worried about it making it through the small patches of cold weather we've had as of late, but it really came through. Looks like I will at least get to pick a couple of my very own peppers to include in my famous enchiladas.

* Still, the only music I'm feeling like listening to are classical pieces. And I've been particularly drawn to soft fabrics as of late. Both have the paradoxically desirable quality of being stimulating and soothing simultaneously.
