Stop me from starting an online toon…

Aug 17, 2005 01:33

I've been reading a couple online toons lately and I'm getting that feeling (that happens too often) of "How hard can this be?"

Every single time in my life I have caught myself saying that - I have later thought, "Ooo, if I knew then what I know now."

I don't have a title for this idea yet (at least, not a good one). The concept of jinn and the real reason there are so many tales about wishes won't leave me alone lately. I've done a few sketches and started a maquette of one of the main characters.

The story - if none of you can convince me not to start it - will begin in Irem Zhat al Imad, the legendary city of jinn in the Rub Al-Khali (Empty Quarter) of Saudi Arabia.

I've been alternatively describing this by the title "Djinn for Dummies" and "Pillar to Post."

"Irem Zhat al Imad" kinda means City of Pillars.
