Hymn to Her - The Pretenders
Through all the trials and tribulations that Sharon has gone through, through all the facts about her life and the lives of others she discovers, she'll always carry on. That's just how she is.
I Am Woman - Helen Reddy
Sharon is a feminist. Through and through. She was the Women's Coordinator for the LAPD, meaning it was her job to make sure women were treated fairly and justly in the workplace. She's also a mother, who would do absolutely anything for her children. It's amazing really.
Running Up That Hill - Kate Bush
This is mostly Sharon in regards to her children (in particular, Rusty). She's had to be there for her children when Jack wouldn't be. She'd swap places with them to feel their hurt through the years instead of having them go through it.
She Keeps Her Love Away - Alice Ripley
When you hear this song, you'll completely understand. It's as if this song was made for Sharon. She's very guarded in terms of her personal life and there's a very particular reason for that, which we're slowly seeing as the seasons move on. She'll put up a front or go elsewhere before she allows other to sense weakness in her.
Heal - Tom Odell
It's taken many years for Sharon to get over Jack Raydor, especially since he'll always be there, whether she likes it or not, because of her children. She's finally starting to move on to a part of her life where she can be free again.
Human - The Pretenders
Yes, another Pretenders song, and this one happens to be the title track. "I'm only human on the inside." This one is her first year or so with Major Crimes. It was hard for her to go through it, but her team soon realized that she was human, just like the rest of them, and they began to respect her more.
I Walk Alone - Cher
Sharon would rather go on alone than worry about relationships. She knows she's still growing and changing, even though she thought she was finished doing so. A new chapter of her life is starting. Will she know how to handle it?
It's Time - Imagine Dragons
Besides this being the promo song for season 2, this also captures Sharon nicely. The worst thing she could imagine doing to Rusty, her family, or her team is to let them down.
