Thursday night last week Jackie and Melissa and I went out to dinner together at Taco Bell. Originally I was going to get Taco Bell with Jackie the week before last and study micro bio this past week with Melissa, but I rolled the two events into one campus expedition. It went pretty well considering prior to dinner Jackie and Melissa didn't know each other. Jackie went a bit GOP and Melissa let the cat out of the bag that she's registered green party but I think everyone enjoyed getting their saturated fat fix. I feel like about every six months I really crave some Taco Bell.
After Taco Bell, Melissa showed me her suite in Phase. In my four years as an undergraduate I'd never seen a Phase loft, they were like an urban legend. OMG if I could live in Melissa's suite I'd move back to campus. The lofts are awesome, her common room has sky lights and her room and their balcony have an amazing view of the Rochester sky line over the Genesse, and also they have a full sized refrigerator. After that I was indoctrinated into the ways of the campus star bucks (omg Karissa you wont believe what they did to the space of the old Hive!). It's beautiful and they even have opened up that balcony. Melissa bought me a java chip frapachino that had me strung out for the rest of the night and we also checked out what use to be common ground. The pool tables and lights are nice, but they kept some of the skeezy old sex couches up in the corner, can you believe that? Oh yeah, and not only did they add those windows to the back of the library but they totally changed what it looks like when you walk in the Clark entrance in the back. And also, they're building that UHS building next to Sue. B. which is totally sucking up library lot parking spaces and apparently they start working on it at like six AM.
After being shocked by everything that's changed on campus, Melissa and I camped out in my old haunt, the 500 level, and studied micro bio from like 8:15-10:30 or so. It was 10:40 as I was pulling out of the U of R. Then I got home and couldn't sleep b/c of all the caffeine and then got up at 5:40am to cram more micro before having to be at work at 8am. I thought the test went pretty well, it was out of like 135.5 points so don't ask me what a good score is b/c that’s a really random amount. Poor Tessa had a water bottle explode in the bottom of her backpack on the way over to the Hospital and had to take the exam with a soaking wet ass. Friday night I went to bed at like 9:30 because I was so zonked from the studying.
Saturday morning I worked with Katie Cooley who was in good sprits and I guess going to work most Saturday mornings from now on which is cool. Then I went and visted Jeanne for almost two hours and from there I went to Don's where we had a very low key time of hanging out and watching TV. Don made us wonderful pizza and as usual I got to pick my own toppings for mine, onions, mushrooms and black olives. Mmmm its was so yummy.
Sunday morning Don and I had a yummy breakfast and a really nice walk and then I left from Dons and went to Liz's where I met up with her and Mizz Holly. We played marathon Burnout on her Xbox for most of the afternoon and evening. LizMom made us a wonderful mid afternoon lunch with Potato cheddar soup served in the cutest little dishes and fresh fruit including raspberries and a chocolate mouse pie for dessert. Oh man I was stuffed. I didn't help I'd already eaten like four of the chocolate chip cookies that Liz made before lunch. I also had another really nice walk in the Morrisey’s orchard where I picked the worlds most beautiful apple. I finally got home at like 10:15 Sunday night (after leaving the house at like 7:45 Saturday morning) becuase of some huge accident on 104 that completely shut down traffic causing me to reroute in the dark.
Today is the U of R's "fall break" (aka a three day weekend) so I don't have class this morning. I had a really fun weekend but I feel like I'm never home.
