Today began early for a Saturday, 9am-ish. I awoke bleary eyed and wondering what awful tone was going off on a day I didn't have to work. It was the alarm. Argh.
At about 10 I began to feel more awake as I drove a moving truck for the first time in my life. It was actually easier than driving my car, although I had to really step lightly on the pedal because apparently a V-10 engine has some "get up and go".
A small squad of people showed up and we began the task of getting K moved out of her apartment.
spookymonkey also arrived to help, but due to health concerns I wished him well. I appreciated getting to chat with him for a bit and I wished him a speedy recovery.
As a note, that is the mark of a true friend, someone who comes to your aid no matter how ill or sleep deprived they might be, with absolutely no expectancy of reward or favor. That is one good thing I can say about our fair city, I have made some really awesome friends here.
At about 6:00PM the task was completed and the truck was returned to the rental place. I fell into the oblivion of exhausted sleep at 7 and woke at about 8:45, thirsty and feeling the need to talk with my sister for a bit on the phone.
Later K and I watched Mutant Chronicles. It was "OK" but I can't really give it a strong recommendation. I can definitely see why it went straight to DVD, but fans of Fallout and Quake would understand the movie in depth.
