Today is W-day! Windows people coming...er, between 9 and 11, and it's about 9:20 now. Supposed to take 6 hours. Technically I could've just gone into work late after I let them in and come back when they're done, but I needed to take a day off or I'll max out on my vacation (since my original plan was already cutting it close and then my boss asked me to push the actual vacation back another week and one more pay period or so). We got the triple pane windows with the argon (?) gas thing that makes it better insulated and blocks UV. The patio door will be changed from a two pane to a four pane with the door opening in the middle instead of just one side. I think it would be a good excuse to get rid of one of our sofas that we never use. :D
All the curtains and blinds are off, so there's a ton of natural light right now. I'm probably going to run out to meet with friends for lunch, and maybe shop for temporary new curtains. We didn't want to do any work on blinds or shutters until the windows are in, and we need something to cover the kitchen windows since we don't even have pseudo curtains for them. I'm hoping for something like a short shower rod? no nails or screws, at least until we can figure out what the final state of the windows coverings should be.
So technically the blinds/shutters are the next project, but I think once I come back from Taiwan, we should start looking at quotes for the roof/attic stuff. That will cost an arm and a leg, but it's wayy overdue. Bathrooms too, though I think mine is tolerable.
